FOR AVANT GO-ERS! |
looks like my web provider is going downhill For those of you who read me each day on your desktop, as opposed to the handheld devices, I apologize for my nattering on about my recent frustrations. The poop is this: since five days ago, no one has been able to download my AvantGo channel. Not even me. So I've been trying to get Apollo Hosting to help me out, which they haven't done so well, in addition to notifying the good folks at AvantGo. I've done what I can, including putting up a substitute AvantGo directory on Geocities for the time being. Then I think I'll be shopping for a new web host. So I called Apollo Hosting yesterday, and the guy on the other end spoke such poor English that he kept asking me to repeat myself. Mm, okay, I totally do NOT have time for this. Goodbye. Kvetch some more, groan groan. Then I put an emergency call on their so-called "staffed" 24-hour service desk, and the next day, nada. Perhaps they're not savvy with handheld devices yet, but the thing is that they don't have to be. It's just another browser when you look at it closely, and all I need them to do is check that there's not a denial of service bug, or corrupted FTP files out there. Sorry to bitch and moan, but these people really have me burned up. It used to be that there was this cool chick named Tamara who pretty much was tech support. From what I can gather, Apollo has gotten all big for its britches now and makes me go through seventeen levels of voice-prompt hell before I speak to someone who actually breathes. So, at the risk of a short life and stuff today, I'm looking for a new local service provider. I'll let you know how it goes. Toodles. |
