gobble, snooze, redesign, snooze again

At last, at last, I've got this whole CSS thing down, and it's time for a redesign. My goal? Faster download, more streamlined presentation, and just a spiffy new look that I think you'll like.

So a couple of the inter-site links are coming down, particularly the photo link. While I've literally got hundreds of the things laying around the place, I just don't have time to scan them into quality galleries. And to be real honest with you, it looks like most everyone drops by here to read, anyway. The Lioness Den is a lot of people's coffee break, and darn if I'm going to mess it up. I hope that's okay with you guys.

This whole internet biz is so goofy. Remember when USA Today and Life redesigned, and it was all big deal? Geez, us webloggers redesign our sites like we change our underpants (okay, I change my undies more frequently than that.) But you get the idea. What's good web design one day becomes tired the next, and it's a heck of a lot easier to retool a site than it is a big ol' magazine.

So, I'm taking the place down at the end of Wednesday, but COME BACK on Monday. You promise?

Pinky swear.

In the meantime, you take a vacation, too. If you live outside the USA, we are celebrating Thanksgiving this week with much food, family, and festivity. Then the day after that, most of America will be at a mall during the busiest shopping day of the year, which is always the Friday after Thanksgiving. I will not be venturing out on this day, as I'm not really up for fighting anyone for a sweater or pair of jeans. Most of my Christmas shopping is done, anyway, so I'm going to kick back, rent a bunch of movies, and snooze periodically throughout the day. Catch up with some friends whom I've missed during all this travelling I've done of late. Snooze some more. You get the idea. Spending ridiculous amounts of money in a crowd isn't exactly my idea of a vacation.

So I guess I'll talk to you again on Monday. You all take care, be safe, and eat lots of yams. They're good for you, slow-baked, with lots of butter. Toodaloo.
