friday thoughts
Note to All the Denizens: I am doing some updating and general site-housekeeping this weekend, so don't wig parts of the site are down or acting goofy. This shouldn't affect AvantGo folks too much, but Internet browsers may encounter oddness. Alright, since I'm hard at work getting the new lid, the litmag at lionessden.com up for Monday, I just thought I'd share a few tidbits from this week for you. It's been a menagerie of seven days, mostly good, very busy. SanFran Chris and everyone who's e-mailed me --- I'll be with you by weekend's end, promise! Thankee for your most delightedly cool messages. Both the sunrise and sunsets over Winston-Salem this week have been stunning, just stunning! All pink and warm and making me glad to be alive. I was walking to work today, when on the sidewalk I observed a massacre. Apparently, someone had just mowed the grass, and there were earthworm pieces EVERYWHERE. Poor little guys. Such a gruesome display. Lives were sacrificed in the name of landscaping. I hope they're happy. Wilma is growing up! I was nearly in tears last night when I looked into her face and realized that she's growing so fast! Gone is the little pointy chin and the naive eyes. She's filling out ever so slightly, jumping onto higher shelves, walking instead of skipping. And yet when she hears my keys in the lock, there she is waiting for me by the door. She will grab my ankle and lick happily with her coarse little tongue. I say, "I love you, too, Wilma," and she continues with her day. We should all have such happy homecomings. Good weekend, all. |
