Labor Day? Yeah, I did that. The photos are in, the publicity machine is at work and rehearsals are underway for Return of the Girl Next Door. The show begins on October 10 and runs through October 12, and is taking place during Winston-Salem's ArtsIgnite festival! Showtime is at 8:00 p.m., and tickets are 10 dollars apiece. To reserve your seats, call the Artistic Studio Theatre at 336.723.7473. I'll have directions and flyers up here at the site tomorrow. Also, lots of people are asking about videotapes of Girl Next Door Runs Amok, and we hope to have them for sale after each performance.

The show is suitable for children 12 and older, so bring some! They might like it. And hey, there's no better girls' night out than Return. Just trust me on this one.

Anyway...hey, Denizens? Have a swell weekend? Ours was blessedly rainy. It didn't entirely cure us of the statewide drought, but it did get Greensboro off of water restrictions and cool things off. It tried to rain us out of a fun Friday night, but we persevered...sort of. After a really long, mighty tedious workday for me and Linda, we met up at the Bistro where we got treated right. Like, so right that we forgot which way was wrong. Heh. When I walked in, Linda was sitting at the bar like, "Beth made me a 'special' drink. You need one!"

Far be it for me to deny special treatment. Belly up, baby.

A half hour later when West End Mambo began their set, we were totally ready to dance. Drizzle? No problem. We'll dance in that. Big bag o' caramel kettle popcorn? I'll eat that for dinner. Of course, eventually the rain got so bad that the band had to pack up for their own safety. Turns out that everyone near electrical equipment was getting dripped on through the tent, though, so they had to shut down.

Nonetheless, we'll go dancing again soon. Erica told us about this cool new club in Greensboro called Rumba Latina where they have salsa lessons and stuff, so now I'm really itching to go. Last time I went salsa dancing was with my friend Danny, who also introduced me to Sangria.

Oh, speaking of Danny, here's your latest update. So he's still using those stupid CoolStrips, he recovered from that awful throat infection, but then he got another one and had his tonsils removed this summer. Blargh, huh? But wait, there's more! Upon recovering, Danny somehow got a hold of a friend's old hot tub. Living in an apartment as he does and at a premium for space, he did what any smart person would do and PUT IT IN THE KITCHEN.

Right, I know. And no, I'm not going hot tubbing in the kitchen. A girl has her standards, for crying out loud. But if there are any cute single twenty-something women out there who are into that sort of thing, contact me. Oh, and you have to like paintball. Like, a lot.
