| on compromising Another student approaches me yesterday morning. He is the other student who needs extra resource help with reading. "Miss H., can I do my presentation today?" The presentation due in two weeks. That he wants to do today. But of course. None of my kids had heard of Harlem before a couple of days ago. They've watched Showtime at the Apollo, and have now made the connection that this is a real place in a real neighborhood. He presents his report to the class, and ends with this statement, "Harlem is a spiritual place. People go there to praise God." Upon receiving his paper, I see that the written version is a wee bit different: "Harlem is a spiritual place. People go there to price God." Something tells me that God can let this one slide.
